Velvet writing competition
To celebrate our opening, Velvet hosted a creative writing competition based on our beautiful instore mural. We had a great event at the cafe on 15th October 2017 to announce the winners.
V is for Valeria
Velvet’s Manager Valeria, also known as "V" has been in the Hospitality industry for the past twenty years. After becoming a fully qualified Chef, Valeria immersed herself in the lively food scene through numerous Sydney kitchens. Her continued inspiration for food, coffee and customer service has been fuelled by travel throughout Europe and South East Asia.
V is energetic and spirited - and her passion for food and coffee extend to the complete customer experience. V is aware that a coffee can just be a coffee and a salad can just be a salad, so she is committed to creating a space with plenty of love and zest ensuring the 'Velvet vibe' becomes a place you visit, belong and return.
It’s no secret that this Byron barista has a loyal local following and now she’s back bigger and better than ever behind the Modbar Espresso Machine, which for a coffee lover is a game changer and the ultimate experience. So whats V’s go to? "For me, my current Velvet vibe is usually ignited by a Butter Coffee or a Long Black".
